The Frankenstein of Guillermo del Toro has a release date
The film will be released in the cinema … in the United States, then on Netflix in the rest of the world.

As unveiled by Netflix, on networks, with the two official posters as a bonus, Frankenstein will be available in France and worldwide from November 7, 2027, streaming on Netflix. And in the cinema? No outing in theaters at home, but in the United States, Frankenstein will be entitled to a limited release a few days earlier, October 17, 2027 – a strategic transition obliged to be able to compete in the Oscars.
Written and directed by the Mexican filmmaker, the film adapts the cult novel by Mary Shelley published in 1818. In the casting: Oscar Isaac in Victor Frankenstein, Jacob Elardi in the skin of the creature, but also Mia Goth, Felix Kammerer, David Bradley, Lars Mikkelsen, Christian Conduy, Charles Dance and Christoph Waltz.

The official description announces: “The Oscar -winning director Guillermo del Toro adapts the classic story of Mary Shelley: Victor Frankenstein, a brilliant but egocentric scientist, gives life to a creature during a monstrous experience which will lead to the loss of the Creator as of his tragic creation.”
The shooting started in February 2024 before ending in September of the same year. Del Toro recently entrusted to Netflix Tudum: “The most important figure of the English heritage is, for me in an incredible way, a teenager by the name of Mary Shelley. She remains in my life a presence as essential as if she was part of my family. So many times, when I want to abandon, when I am told that my dreams of films and stories are impossible, I think of it.”
