Star Wars puts Maul back at the center of the universe: trailer
The new series dedicated to Darth Maul will be released in a few days on Disney +.
The title is long, but its concept is already making Star Wars fans salivate.
The very popular Darth Maul, Sith Lord, apprentice of Darth Sidious before Darth Vader, introduced into the saga in The Phantom Menace in 1999, will be entitled to his own series.
Star Wars: Maul – Lord of Shadow will be released on April 6 on Disney+ with the first two episodes, then two episodes will be broadcast each week until the finale scheduled for May 4. And already, Lucasfilm and Disney unveil a long trailer which shows the warrior escaping from the Empire during Order 66. We see Darth Maul preparing his revenge against the Empire for its betrayal and trying to recruit a Jedi Padawan as a new apprentice. The teaser also promises spectacular action sequences and numerous lightsaber duels…
Set after the events of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, this pulp adventure follows Maul as he attempts to rebuild his criminal syndicate on a planet untouched by the Empire. There, he crosses paths with a disillusioned young Jedi Padawan, who could become the apprentice he is looking for.
Created by Dave Filoni based on George Lucas’ original characters, the animated series features the voice of Sam Witwer, who reprises his role as Maul from the series The Clone Wars and Rebels.
According to Sam Witwer, the series will explore new facets of the character: “We discover different aspects of this character. He has unexpected traits that make sense when you consider what he has been through…”
