John Travolta recounts his initiatory flight to Los Angeles: trailer

Night Flight to Los Angeles will be released on Apple TV, following its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival.

It will be one of the events of the 2026 Cannes Film Festival.

John Travolta will land on the Croisette with a very personal project entitled Night flight to Los Angeles (Propeller One-Way Night Coach), whose first trailer has just been posted online by Apple TV. A turning point in the actor’s career Grease : here he signs the screenplay, direction and production of this family tale inspired by his own children’s book published in 1997. The story takes place in the golden age of aviation. We follow Jeff, a young airplane enthusiast, and his mother, embarked on a one-way trip across the United States, towards Hollywood. A simple flight then becomes an initiatory odyssey…

The synopsis details: “In the golden age of aviation, Jeff (played by Clark Shotwell), a young boy passionate about aeronautics, takes off alongside his mother (Kelly Eviston-Quinnett) for a one-way trip to Hollywood, crossing the United States. What could have been a simple flight becomes the trip of a lifetime. Between the dishes served on board, the attention of the hostesses (played by Ella Bleu Travolta – daughter of the actor – and Olga Hoffmann), unexpected stopovers, colorful travelers and a memorable passage through first class, the adventure reserves moments as magical as they are surprising, marking the destiny of the young boy forever.

John Travolta therefore returns to Cannes several decades after having presented there pulp Fiction, She’s So Lovely And Primary Colors as an actor. With this directorial debut, Travolta describes a luminous and nostalgic adventure, centered on the wonder of childhood and the power of travel as a founding moment.

The film will be available on Friday, May 29 on Apple TV, following its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival. Watch the trailer below:
