18 years later, AKA arrives on TF1: the crazy story behind the film with Alban Lenoir

A long video details the crazy story behind the 2023 hit worn by Alban Lenoir for Netflix, and which will be broadcast unencrypted this evening on TF1.

After being a hit on Netflix, AKA will be broadcast this evening unencrypted on F1. The French action film was seen all over the world thanks to the platform, in 2023, entering the top 10 of 89 territories (and even number 1 in 79 countries) including France, but also the United States, Italy, Spain, Argentina…

After the success of Guillaume Pierret’s Lost Ball, it’s a new success for Alban Lenoir, who opposite Eric Cantona and Thibault de Montalembert. The 45-year-old actor, previously seen in Kaamelott, Un Français or Hero Corp, plays the role of Adam Franco, a mercenary working for the French secret services. After a mission abroad, he is responsible for infiltrating a mafia organization in order to prevent a planned large-scale terrorist attack on our territory.

AKA is a project that director Morgan S. Dalibert (who was the cinematographer of Lost Ball) and the actor have been carrying out since 2008. Eighteen years ago, they had shot, edited and broadcast a teaser in order to attract the attention of potential financiers, because they dreamed of making it into a TV series. Here is the video:
