Tomer Sisley joins GIGN on Netflix: trailer
The actor dons the uniform of the famous gendarmerie intervention group in a new French action series for Netflix, by the director of The Assault.
After three Largo Winch films, Tomer Sisley remains in the action register, but swaps the costume of the billionaire adventurer for that of a member of the GIGN.
Netflix has just revealed the first trailer for GIGN, a new French action series led by the 51-year-old actor. He plays David, an officer of the famous National Gendarmerie Intervention Group who, after the death of his colleague and best friend, must now take the latter’s son under his wing.
But mourning will quickly give way to danger. According to the official synopsis, “After an unprecedented attack on the GIGN, an officer about to leave the field must lead a perilous mission that forces him to confront his past.” And the situation becomes even more complicated when “his unit is targeted and David must choose between protecting his people or the secret he is hiding.”
Behind the camera, we find Julien Leclercq, who had already filmed GIGN at the heart of the action. In 2011, the director signed L’Assaut, an excellent thriller covering the hostage-taking of Air France flight 8969 and the historic intervention of the GIGN in Marignane. We also owe him the series Robbers and the remake of The Wages of Fear, already on Netflix.
The screenplay is by Julien Leclercq, Sylvain Caron, Elsa Vasseur, Victor Lockwood and Léa Raud.
Around Tomer Sisley, the cast also brings together Grégori Derangère, Mélanie Bernier, Antoine Basler and Philippe Bas.
GIGN will be available July 22 on Netflix.
