The series about Jimmy Olsen has found its Gorilla Grodd

Jimmy Tatro will play the big bad in the Superman spin-off for HBO Max, recounting the Daily Planet investigations.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Jimmy Tatro, revealed in American Vandal, will play the famous supervillain Gorilla Grodd in the DC Crime series, the Superman spin-off currently in development for HBO Max and centered on Jimmy Olsen.

The actor will also meet the creators of American Vandal, Dan Perrault and Tony Yacenda, who are at the helm of this new series.

The DC Crime series will follow photographer Jimmy Olsen (played by Skyler Gisondo) and journalists from the Daily Planet as they investigate cases involving criminal metahumans. The first season will focus on Gorilla Grodd, one of the most emblematic adversaries in the DC universe. In the comics, Gorilla Grodd is a gorilla with extraordinary intelligence and powerful telepathic abilities. Historical enemy of Flash, he had already been adapted into the series The Flash on the CW.

After Creature Commandos, Peacemaker, Lanterns and Supergirl, DC Crime thus becomes a new stone in the building of the DC Universe imagined by James Gunn and Peter Safran.
