Blade Runner 2099 unveils its first trailer with Michelle Yeoh and Hunter Schafer

Nine years after Blade Runner 2049, the universe imagined by Ridley Scott returns with an event series on Prime Video.

Return to the world of Ridley Scott.

Prime Video has just revealed a magnificent first trailer for its Blade Runner 2099 series, which will extend the saga, nine years after the release of Denis Villeneuve’s film Blade Runner 2049.

This limited series takes place 50 years after the events of the two films and features two new characters. Michelle Yeoh plays Olwen, a Replicant who is reaching the end of her existence, while Hunter Schafer lends his features to Cora, a human hunted by the Blade Runners.

The first images show the two women forced to team up in a world where the war between humans and Replicants rages. The trailer concludes with a statement that sets the tone for this new story:

“The old world keeps trying to come back. Humans want back what was taken from them. But now it’s our time.”

This new series is directed by Silka Luisa (Shining Girls), who serves as showrunner and executive producer. Ridley Scott, director of the cult 1982 film, is also involved as executive producer.

If Blade Runner 2049 followed the return of Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford) alongside Blade Runner K (Ryan Gosling), Blade Runner 2099 opens a new chapter in the franchise with a new plot and entirely new characters.

Blade Runner 2099 will be available on Prime Video from November 25, 2026.
