The Sons of Anarchy reunited in a totally meta new series

More than 10 years after the end of the cult series, the main members of the cast will find themselves in a new mini-series imagined by Charlie Hunnam. And this time, the border between fiction and reality will shatter.

The Sons of Anarchy are back… or almost.

The American channel FX has just ordered Legends, a new limited series which will bring together a large part of the cast of the cult series created by Kurt Sutter.

Charlie Hunnam will therefore return to the road, but not in the shoes of Jax Teller. He will be accompanied by Ron Perlman, Katey Sagal, Maggie Siff, Mark Boone Junior, Tommy Flanagan, Kim Coates and Theo Rossi, who will reunite with their former partners more than ten years after the end of Sons of Anarchy.

Legends will not be a sequel to the series. The concept is even totally meta: the actors of Sons of Anarchy will play their own roles, meeting at a fan convention, years after the end of the show. And as the reunion begins, the line between their real lives and the characters they played gradually blurs.

Synopsis: When the cast of Sons of Anarchy reunites at a fan convention more than ten years after the series ended, the line between life and fiction blurs. This once united brotherhood will then have to face a very real threat, more dangerous than anything it faced in the series.

An idea imagined by Charlie Hunnam himself, who is developing the series with Jonathan Groff. The two men will also serve as executive producers alongside Rob Mac, Nicholas Frenkel and Jackie Cohn.

“When Charlie presented us with this inspired idea, we immediately embraced his bold and entertaining vision,” says Nick Grad, President of FX Entertainment. “It’s a true love letter to the series, with a fun meta twist that will play with what fans think they know.”

Launched in 2008, Sons of Anarchy accompanied FX’s debut in major original drama series. Created by Kurt Sutter, it lasted seven seasons and nearly 100 episodes, before ending in 2014.
