Sandra Oh reveals why she won't return to Grey's Anatomy

“No, she won't come back. At least not soon, friends…”

Renewed for a 21st season, Grey's Anatomy, still has many good years ahead of her. We should see Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) there from time to time, as we have sometimes encountered Kate Walsh (Addison), Jesse Williams (Jackson), Sarah Drew (April) and even recently Jessica Capshaw (Arizona). But never in ten years, Sandra Oh never set foot in Seattle again.

Even when her best friend lost her husband or left the hospital, Cristina Yang was conspicuous by her absence. Left at the end of season 10, Sandra Oh – which has since shone on Netflix in The director or in Killing Eve and who will be in the new HBO series, The Sympathizer – explains to Entertainment Tonight this week:

“I love that people are still interested in Cristina. At one point I was tired of people asking me about her. But now I love it. I love being asked that question because , of course, Cristina is dear to my heart. But no, she won't come back. At least not soon, friends…”

For Sandra Ohthe page Grey's Anatomy is definitely turned: “I hope people feel like I did my job, which is that I brought a character to life, that it grew over 10 seasons, and that it was beautiful and sincere. But after that, Cristina was ready to move on, and so was I.”
