Trailer: La Gradiva, Grand Prix of Critics’ Week at Cannes
Marine Atlan’s first feature film caused a sensation on the Croisette last May.
It is one of the French films noticed at Cannes this year.
La GradivaMarine Atlan’s first feature film, was presented in competition at Critics’ Week during the 2026 Cannes Film Festival, where it won the Grand Prize.
The film takes us to Naples, during a school trip: “A group of French high school students go on a school trip to discover the ruins of Pompeii and its bodies petrified by Vesuvius. This is where dizziness suddenly hits them. One after the other, they allow themselves to be overwhelmed by desire and anger until they completely abandon themselves to it..”
The trailer gives a first glimpse of this Italian trip which will quickly take a much murkier turn. Between fascination, desire and violence of feelings, La Gradiva will be a dizzying experience.
The cast includes Colas Quignard, Antonia Buresi, Mitia Capellier-Audat and Suzanne Gerin. The screenplay is by Marine Atlan and Anne Brouillet.
La Gradiva will be released in cinemas in France on October 21, 2026.
