Verity: a thriller that turns into a luxury soap (review)

By dint of forced twists and strong effects, this adaptation of a best-seller which dreams of being sensual and poisonous struggles to convince, despite Anne Hathaway’s disturbing interpretation.

Lowen Ashleigh is a lonely writer. Struggling to make a living from her profession, she agrees to become the pen-president of the successful author, Verity Crawford, and settles in her property isolated from prying eyes. This is the starting point for this adaptation of the best-seller by Colleen Hoover where very quickly the border between fiction and reality will become blurred. Verity announces the color very early on. The film is dreamed of as a sensual and unhealthy thriller. But he will never manage to rise to the height of his ambitions.
