For Robert Pattinson, The Batman 2 will mark “a huge break”

Matt Reeves stops filming The Batman 2 “for family reasons”

The director must temporarily halt production. Warner Bros. and DC Studios assure that the director has their full support.

The production of The Batman Part II is temporarily interrupted, while Matt Reeves must take a step back to take care of a family matter.

Warner Bros. and DC Studios confirmed the break in a press release without further details:

“The production of The Batman Part II has been temporarily put on hiatus while Matt Reeves focuses on a family matter. Matt has the full support of DC Studios and we look forward to continuing this adventure soon.“

There is no question at the moment of talking about delays or postponing the release of the film.

Robert Pattinson must still reprise the costume of the Dark Knight in this highly anticipated sequel, which has already seen several postponements. The film was originally scheduled to be released on October 2, 2026, before Warner Bros. does not postpone it until October 1, 2027. Last July, new change of program: The Batman Part II was postponed to February 2028.

A decidedly long-term production for Matt Reeves, whose first The Batman was released in March 2022. Six years will therefore separate, at least, the two films.

Robert Pattinson will return as Bruce Wayne, alongside a cast that includes Scarlett Johansson, Colin Farrell, Sebastian Stan, Andy Serkis and Jeffrey Wright.
