Vin Diesel confirms that the next Fast and Furious will be the last
The actor and producer breaks his silence on Instagram to give news about his “family”, putting an end to speculation around the franchise.
We hadn't seen the actor and producer of the franchise Fast and Furious since'Asha Jonassonhis former assistant, had filed a complaint against him for acts of sexual assault dating back to 2010. American justice having taken up the case, Vin Diesel had apparently chosen to remain discreet. But, ending a hiatus of a few months, the interpreter of Dom Toretto resurfaces.
We had already seen him last week at the American Cinematheque Awards in Los Angeles to pay tribute to his friend Helen Mirren. But last Friday, it was through his Instagram account that the actor spoke directly to his followers, answering a question that was nagging people's minds:
“I just got out of our weekend meeting with the writers and the entire Fast team, can we read in the caption of a photo of his alter-ego, Dom Toretto. To say the excitement around our latest film was incredibly powerful is an understatement. Wow. It’s all thrilling.”

One way to put an end to speculation surrounding the future of the franchise: the eleventh film will indeed be the last. But Vin Diesel makes it clear: “This grand finale will not be a simple ending, but a celebration of the incredible family we have built together”. A family that also includes fans of Fast and Furiouswhom the actor wanted to thank:
“As everyone left for this weekend pumped up and super excited, I had a thought for you… I remembered the countless moments when your enthusiasm and passion became the driving forces of our creative adventure. Your devotion to the saga has had a unique impact on its success and evolution…”
Fans can rest assured, the franchise still has a few cards to play before its definitive end. Following Fast Xalso produced by Louis Leterrieris already scheduled for April 5, 2025 in the United States, while Dwayne Johnsonwho will make his big return to the saga as Luke Hobbs, and other recurring members of the team Fastwill be brought together in another production from the franchise, not counting future spin off announced by Diesel.
