The Harry Potter series reveals the ghosts of Hogwarts

Meet the new Nearly Headless Nick.

Hogwarts welcomes new ghosts!

HBO has just completed the casting of its Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone series by announcing the actors who will play the iconic spirits of the castle, as well as the one who will bring the Sorting Hat to life.

Leo Bill will now be Almost Headless Nick and therefore succeeds former Monty Python John Cleese, who played the character in the first two films.

Andrew Brooke reprises the role of the Bloody Baron, played by Terence Bayler in the cinema.

Laura Smyth will be the new Fat Lady, after Elizabeth Spriggs in the first film then Dawn French from Prisoner of Azkaban.

Finally, Daniel Fearn will play the Fat Monk, a role played by Simon Fisher-Becker in the first part.

For his part, David Threlfall will lend his voice to the Sorting Hat, succeeding Leslie Phillips, who brought him to life in the original version of the films.

These characters are an integral part of the universe imagined by JK Rowling.

Whether they guard the entrance to Gryffindor, haunt the castle corridors or welcome new students during the sorting ceremony, they help give Hogwarts its very special atmosphere.

The HBO Original series, which will start from the first volume of the saga, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, is expected from December 25 on HBO Max.
