Trailer: Netflix’s Quasimodo is revealed (or almost)
Jean-François Richet’s version, worn by Vincent Cassel, will be released at the end of November.
“Find the hunchback !”
After Les Miserablesit is a new classic of French literature by Victor Hugo which will be brought to the screen, this time on Netflix.
But be careful, this Quasimodo will not be an adaptation of Notre-Dame of Parisbut a rereading featuring the hunchback in 1830, in a capital ravaged by cholera and where revolution is boiling. The trailer posted online by Netflix today takes great care not to show the face of the Quasimodo that Vincent Cassel will play, apparently with a distorted face.
The synopsis: “In the Paris of 1830 torn apart by cholera and revolution, a hunchbacked stonemason, hunted by the police, risks everything to save the dancer he fell in love with and thus inspires Victor Hugo to create his most legendary character..”
Directed by Jean-François Richet, this new film will be called Quasimodo, the soul of Paris will also bring together in the cast Karim Leklou, Daphné Patakia and Benjamin Voisin.
Written by Éric Besnard and Edgar Marie, Quasimodo, the soul of Paris will be released on Netflix on November 27, 2026.
