The film by Scorsese and The Rock will tell “the last big story of the American Mafia”
Emily Blunt talks about the advance of this highly anticipated thriller in Hawaii.
On the red carpet of SMASHING MachineEmily Blunt confirmed that the mysterious Hawaiian mafia film led by Martin Scorsese was indeed advancing.
A project already presented as a cross between The freed And Infiltratedwith Dwayne Johnson in the central figure. The actress – who already gives the replica to The Rock in SMASHING Machine – The first female role will be held there:
“We are developing the film right now. It’s really an incredible story. Perhaps the last big story of the American mafia … I find it hard to believe that it has never been told. It will be really a great role for Dwayne, he will be able to immerse himself in it.”

The feature is inspired by the ascent of the Hawaiian criminal union The Companydirected in the 60s and 70s by Wilford “Nappy” Pulawa, which will be played by The Rock.
The project, produced by 20th Century for Disney, should also count Leonardo DiCaprio in the casting, with a scenario co-written by journalist Nick Bilton and Dwayne Johnson himself.
“The scenario is already written, but we are still working on it. It’s a very exciting game to build it all.”, concludes Emily Blunt.
The shooting is hoped for in 2026. No release date yet.
