A series of riverdale with … zombies?
The afterlife with Archie comics will be adapted in series.
We thought that Riverdale had already attempted everything, from serial killer to sects through the most improbable time trips. But Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa has not said his last word: the Archie universe will now switch to pure horror.
According to Variety, Disney+ develops a series adapted from the upperlife with archie comics.
The well advanced project was signed in “script-to-series” (therefore almost guaranteed to go to the shooting), promises to transform the small town of Archie and Betty into an apocalyptic nightmare invaded … by hungry zombies.
Aguirre-Sacasa, already Showrunner of Riverdale, written and produced via Muckle Man Productions. He finds his accomplices authors: Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Leigh London Redman (Berlanti Productions), as well as Jon Goldwater (Archie Comics Studios) and Jimmy Gibbons. The series will be produced by Warner Bros. Television, parent company of the two companies.
This return to the country of Archie Gore version promises to be a spiritual sequence in Riverdale, which had already given a black and delusional tone to the original comics.
It remains to be seen whether certain members of the original cast, notably KJ APA, will be back for this new version which will arrive three years after the end of the series at the 7 seasons.
