Charlie Hunnam in a new noir thriller for Prime Video: Criminal trailer
Adapted from the famous comic book series by Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips, this new criminal fiction will tell a story of heists, family secrets and score-settling.
After the bikers of Sons of Anarchy, Charlie Hunnam plunges back into a world of violence and crime.
The actor stars in Criminal, a new Prime Video series adapted from the graphic novels by Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips. The platform has just revealed the trailer (below) and its release date: see you in January 2027.
Hunnam plays Leo Patterson, a criminal who grew up in a world of crime alongside his best friend Ricky Lawless (Gus Halper). In the first part, entitled Coward, the two men will see family secrets buried for decades resurface. Haunted by a murder committed during their childhood, they find themselves confronted with their past after the robbery goes wrong.
The second part, Lawless, will go back twenty years. Tracy Lawless (Luke Evans) chose the military over prison, and never looked back. But when his brother Ricky becomes embroiled in a dangerous case, Tracy must return to the life he fled and confront what it truly means to bear the Lawless name.
In the middle of this gallery of criminals, two women also find themselves caught in the spiral: Greta (Adria Arjona), a car thief with a strong character and linked to Leo’s past, and Mallory (Emilia Clarke), Ricky’s girlfriend, who fears how far he could go to get out of it.
The cast also brings together Richard Jenkins, Kadeem Hardison and John Hawkes.
The Criminal series will be offered in two parts of four episodes: Coward will arrive on January 13, 2027 on Prime Video, then Lawless will follow on January 27.
