Adam Driver keeps saying no to Marvel
Kevin Feige reveals that the Star Wars star systematically refuses proposals from the MCU.
He would have undoubtedly made a perfect Doctor Doom.
But Adam Driver doesn’t seem to be in a hurry to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Podcast guest Happy Sad ConfusedMarvel Studios boss Kevin Feige revealed that the actor had already declined several offers from the studio… to the point that it had become a real habit.
“It’s no secret: we would love to work with Adam. It’s become a Marvel tradition to do a Zoom with him every movie… before he says no! A tradition that has lasted for a long time. But he is always extremely cordial and very honest about how he feels.”
Kevin Feige did not specify which roles the actor had been offered, nor how many times he had refused. But obviously, each time, it didn’t excite the star.
In recent weeks, Adam Driver was regularly cited among the favorites to play Magneto in the future reboot of the X-Men. A rumor that the president of Marvel has however tempered, ensuring that no casting decision had yet been made.
It must be said that Adam Driver already knows the constraints of a major Hollywood franchise. Revealed to the general public thanks to his role as Kylo Ren in the last trilogy Star Warsthe actor today seems particularly selective in the choice of his projects.
In the meantime, Adam Driver continues to resist calls from the MCU… even if, at Marvel, we don’t seem ready to give up on the idea of convincing him one day.
