Box office: 500,000 admissions for Brad Pitt, The Odyssey passes 8 million
While the re-release of Avengers: Endgame attracted 220,000 additional spectators.
It’s a canine start for Brad Pitt!
Heart of the Beast directly takes first place at the French box office and crosses the symbolic milestone of 500,000 spectators in one week. A very good launch for this adventure directed by David Ayer and carried by Brad Pitt, at the heart of which is a relationship as intense as it is moving between a man and his dog.
For comparison, it is much better than Dog Stars at the beginning of the month, which started with 177,000 entries in the first week, for a total of 330,000 at the end of the journey.
resident Evil falls to second place, but with a small drop in attendance of 30% and 250,000 additional entries. The film now has more than 570,000 spectators.
In third place, Avengers: Endgame Extended attracts 220,000 fans for its release. A performance which allows the Marvel blockbuster to pass the 7 million admissions mark in France. The film remains the second biggest success of the MCU behind Spider-Man: Brand New Daynow beyond 8.4 million entries.
Adèle Exarchopoulos follows at the foot of the podium with Madderwhich records almost 215,000 entries. For director Jeanne Herry, it’s a little less good than I will always see your faceswhich had 280,000 admissions in its first week in 2023.
Justin the Just completes the Top 5 with almost 100,000 admissions for the war film starring Alban Ivanov and Alexandra Lamy.
Also note the correct start of Primetimewith Robert Pattinson, which attracts 78,000 spectators in a very small park of around a hundred theaters. It is more than Die, My Love by Lynne Ramsay, which reunited Robert with Jennifer Lawrence and which opened in France to 24,000 admissions at the start of the year.
The hits of summer 2026 have all declined. After resisting the return to school, Fallen from the sky falling to sixth place with 91,000 new entries, for a cumulative attendance of 2.1 million spectators.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day And The Odyssey fell to the bottom of the top 10 but continued to resist with 76,000 additional entries. Christopher Nolan’s film thus in turn crossed the 8 million spectator mark in France. This is the second film of the year to reach such a milestone after The Weaver.
