Buffy stars devastated after Nicholas Brendon’s death
Sarah Michelle Gellar and Alyson Hannigan posted poignant messages on their networks.
They were a gang. A family. Today, the actors of Buffy the Vampire Slayer mourn the disappearance of the man who shared the Slayer’s battles for a decade in the skin of Alex Harris. At 54, Nicholas Brendon passed away this Friday and Sarah Michelle Gellar was quick to pay tribute to him by sharing a heartbreaking message:
“They will never know how hard it is to be the unchosen one. To live so close to the light, but never to enter it. But I know. I see more than the others realize, because no one is looking at me. I saw you, Nicky. I know you are at peace, in that big rocking chair up there.”
For her part, Alyson Hannigan, who played Willow in the series, also shared her grief with a tender message:
“My sweet Nicky, thank you for the years of laughter, love…and Dodgers. I will think of you every time I see a rocking chair. I love you. Rest in peace.”
His tribute was accompanied by an image of the duo embracing in an episode of the series – as an echo of this complicity which has spanned the years.
