Cannes 2024: Furiosa's chic and feminist red carpet with Anya Taylor-Joy, Judith Godrèche, Eva Green, Greta Gerwig…
In addition to the prequel to Mad Max, the short event film Me Too was shown this evening, opening Un Certain Regard.
Revealed in The Witchby Robert Eggers, in 2015, Anya Taylor-Joy was the star of Cannes this evening: it was she who was chosen by George Miller to succeed Charlize Theron in the role of Furiosain its prequel to Mad Max: Fury Road. A fresco just as stunning as his film which revolutionized action cinema nine years ago, but at the same time quite different from its predecessor, taking place over fifteen years instead of one weekend, and featuring new characters from the Wasteland.
If Anya had brought out the big guns for the Hollywood premiere of Furiosawith her spicy dress as desiredshe was more sober this evening on the red carpet, but as usual, she calculated each movement, ready to be immortalized from all angles.

Cannes 2024: Furiosa is a mind-blowing epic, a crazy new chapter in the Mad Max saga
She was complicit with the photographers, and of course with the rest of the team, who she whispered a secret in the ear of the filmmaker, posed on the arm of her playing partner Chris Hemsworthhas fun with his young version (Alyla Browne) or his colleague Tom Burke, or happily take part in the group photo at the top of the steps. She is definitely the Queen of perfect poses!
The actress Faye Dunaway was present to defend a documentary screened at Cannes Classics, dedicated to her. The president of the jury Greta Gerwig also took advantage of this red carpet to take a friendly break with one of the most popular members of her team, Eva Greenthen they filed into the Light room.
But the image that we will remember from this second red carpet of the 2024 Cannes Film Festival will certainly be this one, staged just before the short film of Judith Godrèchetitled Me too, be revealed at the opening of Un Certain Regard. To accompany the broadcast of this film which gives a voice to victims of sexual violence, the actress posed with her team, hands over their mouths. A gesture that echoes his fight, and in particular his strong speech at the last Caesar ceremony.
The strong image from day to day @Festival_Cannes : Judith Godrèche presented her short film “Me Too”, which features 1000 victims of sexual violence.
