Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans, historical faces of Iron Man and Captain America in the MCU, met at the ceremony to present the awards for Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Original Screenplay. A winking appearance, both to celebrate the 14th anniversary of Joss Whedon’s film, and to tease their upcoming reunion in Avengers: Doomsday.
On stage, the exchange between the two actors quickly turned into comedy. While Robert Downey Jr. explained that “the script is the driving force of any film…”Chris Evans interrupted him to ask him what he had given him for his 14th birthday.Avengers. Even their costumes made reference to their future confrontation in Avengers: Doomsday: Robert Downey Jr. sported a dark green jacket reminiscent of Doctor Doom, while Chris Evans wore a deep blue suit reminiscent of Captain America
Remember that Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Paul Rudd, Tom Hiddleston, Letitia Wright, Simu Liu, Pedro Pascal, Florence Pugh, David Harbor and Vanessa Kirby will also be part of the adventure Avengers: Doomsdaywhich will be released in theaters on December 16.
