Clayface: the ultimate eye-catching trailer
The DC horror film may (really) make your blood run cold.
One month before its theatrical release, the latest trailer for Clayface is here, and it promises a particularly nightmarish transformation for Tom Rhys Harries.
The actor plays Matt Hagen, a Hollywood star who will gradually become a terrifying monster. Directed by James Watkins, this new R-rated film will mark the arrival of the horrible Clayface in the new DC universe.
The trailer opens with Dr. Caitlin Bates, played by Naomi Ackie, asking Matt Hagen: “What do you want, Mr. Hagen?” He replies: “I want my life back.“
What follows is an eye-stinging medical procedure – literally – that doesn’t go exactly as planned. Hagen then begins to undergo a transformation as strange as it is horrifying. The video shows Hagen terrorizing those around him with his new abilities, including his power to change faces… before ending with a glimpse of Clayface’s final monstrous form.
Intended as a true horror film more than a classic superhero film, Clayface promises to be one of the most atypical projects ever produced by DC. Mike Flanagan – creator of hit horror series like The Haunting of Hill House – also wrote the script.
Max Minghella, Eddie Marsan, David Dencik, Nancy Carroll and Joshua James complete the cast.
Clayface will be released in cinemas on October 21 in France.
