Hervé Mimran has created a comedy like no other, to be discovered in theaters on September 4.

“Two lifelong friends live on a small island in Brittany and discover that one of the inhabitants has won the jackpot in the national lottery. The two old scoundrels then set out to find the mysterious winner in order to secure his favor before the news spreads. But when they discover that the latter is dead, winning ticket in hand, they decide to organize with the complicity of the entire village a big lottery scam to take his place.”

For Old, Hervé Mimran associates with Igor Gotesmanwriter and director for the small screen (Casting(s), Fiasco, Family Business) and for the big one (Five) and which he had play in his last film, A man in a hurry (2018) to deliver a crazy scenario, at the origin of which we also find the partners in crime of Gotesman, his brother, WilliamAnd Carine Prevotboth in the credits of Family Business.

After Fabrice Luchini, there are three other big names in French cinema who are in the spotlight, and three names synonymous with popular success: Didier Bourdon, Gerard Darmon And Chantal Laubyreunited for the first time since their fleeting appearance in The Keys to the Car of Laurent Baffie in 2003.

The expression “old” then takes on another dimension, and can perhaps be understood as a reference to those comedies that marked the 1990s and 2000s, such as The City of Fear or Asterix and Obelix: Mission Cleopatratwo films which saw Darmon and Lauby play opposite each other in scenes which have become cult classics. The young Paloma Coquant (Munch, Santa & Co.) completes the cast.
