Disney + deploys a five-star system for the 98th Academy Awards
The platform promises “an evening of Hollywood-inspired entertainment”.
On the occasion of the 98th Academy Awards, Disney+ is pulling out all the stops for the most anticipated cinema event of the year. The platform is once again broadcasting the 2026 Oscars live in France this year, and it has unveiled its system.
On the red carpet in Los Angeles, we will find the French influencer Léna Situations, already at the helm last year, and the presenter of The Great BookstoreAugustin Trapenard. The duo will be responsible for transcribing the atmosphere of the ceremony live. Augustin Trapenard will also comment on the highlights of this evening during the numerous advertising breaks. In 2025, it was the journalist Sophie Soulignac who teamed up with the influencer.
Just before, Disney + will offer a pre-Oscars show hosted by Kyan Khojandi. At his side, we will find the comedians Eric Judor and Kheiron as well as the actresses Blandine Lehout and Alice David. A quirky ceremony that will mix humor and cinema. On the program: a Pictionary, a cinema quiz and famous speeches revisited.
After more than 30 years of broadcast on Canal+, in 2025, the streaming channel took control of the most prestigious cinema ceremony. You will therefore need to be a subscriber to the platform to follow the ceremony… From 2029, the Oscars will be available to follow on YouTube.
The special Oscars evening will begin on March 15 at 10:30 p.m. on Disney +. The red carpet will begin at 11:15 p.m., followed at midnight by the ceremony hosted by Conan O’Brien, available in both the original English version and dubbed in French.
