Hostel: horror prepares its return with Paul Giamatti in the casting
The classic slasher from the 2000s will become a TV series.
It was one of the most terrifying horror films of the turn of the century. Three young Americans traveling in Europe stop at a Slovakian youth hostel run by an organization that kills and tortures people for fun. Hostel will return in a TV adaptation, which could be carried by Paul Giamatti (Billions), recently nominated for an Oscar (for Winter Break). Eli Roth, Chris Briggs and Mike Fleiss are also announced. Elie Roth is expected to direct and write the screenplay with Briggs. It was he who had already signed Hostel in 2006 and its sequel in 2007.
So what will the series be about? Hostel ? We don't know anything about it yet, but it is described as a “modern adaptation” and an “intelligent thriller”, according to THR, which specifies that it will not be a sequel, but a “reinvention” of the horror franchise.
For now, the project is waiting for a broadcaster before coming to fruition.
