What does the future hold for Emily and Gabriel after this?

The first five episodes of season 4 ofEmily in Paris are now on Netflix. And they open the door to a kind of happy ending for Emily and Gabriel… But is it really that simple? Spoiler alert!

In this part 1, the big reveal is that Camille was, in fact, never pregnant. It was a false-positive test. What Darren Star and his writers had imagined from the start: “We talked about it a lot. We did a lot of possible scripts and in the end, this felt like the most Emily in Paris from history.”

So, this first part of season 4 has clearly paved the way for the couple Gabriel and Emily. So finally together? Will their story finally take off in part 2? It’s far from obvious for Darren Star, who tempers in EW:

“It’s complicated. They have this wonderful moment in episode 5 where they really express their feelings for each other and we really see where they’re at. But there’s going to be complications. Because after that initial period of passion, where you get excited, there’s a kind of reality that’s going to hit them…”

Especially since Alfie, the big loser of these episodes, is not far away. If he disappeared after learning that Emily had chosen Gabriel, he did not leave the series for good: “I’ll just say that Alfie is coming back in part 2. He’s not gone!“, teases Darren Star.

Part 2 of Season 4 of‘Emily in Pariswhich will also have 5 episodes, will be released online on September 12 on Netflix.
