Filming for season 2 of Alien: Earth has begun

The sequel has officially entered production in London. And Disney has just revealed a first behind-the-scenes video.

The Xenomorphs are back. Disney and American channel FX have just started filming season 2 of Alien: Earth, with a new behind-the-scenes video that gives a first glimpse of the sequel to the series created by Noah Hawley. And even if the plot remains carefully kept secret, fans of the saga will immediately recognize a particularly familiar creature.

The short video notably shows Sydney Chandler returning as Wendy and Alex Lawther as Hermit. We also see heavily armed Marines entering a research center, as well as several elements of the practical effects used to bring the creatures to life.

And in particular… a chestburster. FX briefly unveils a particularly detailed model of the famous baby Xenomorph, giving a glimpse of the work carried out in practical effects for this new season.

After a first season filmed in Thailand, Alien: Earth this time sets its cameras at Pinewood Studios in London. Noah Hawley remains at the helm of the series as creator and showrunner, but FX is still keeping every last detail of the plot under lock and key.

Season 2 will also welcome several new A-list actors. Peter Dinklage was announced first, before Tracey Ullman, Sam Spruell and Jerome Flynn joined the cast.
