Images of the great Homeric premiere of The Odyssey in London
Christopher Nolan presented his epic world premiere last night. A spectacular event marked by the presence of the impressive cast of the film… and a huge Trojan horse installed in the heart of Leicester Square.
The great journey of The Odyssey has officially started. A few days before its release, Christopher Nolan presented his adaptation of Homer’s mythological poem during a grandiose world premiere organized in London.
For the occasion, Universal had thought big. A gigantic Trojan horse, similar to the one visible in the film, sat in the middle of Leicester Square, transformed into an ancient setting to host one of the most prestigious cinema events of the year.
Around Christopher Nolan and his producer Emma Thomas, an impressive part of the cast had made the trip: Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, Lupita Nyong’o, John Leguizamo, Benny Safdie, Himesh Patel, Samantha Morton, Elliot Page, Mia Goth, Corey Hawkins and Travis Scott.

Asked by Variety on the sea-colored blue carpet, Matt Damon, who plays Ulysses, spoke about the scale of the shoot: “I felt like I was shooting six or seven films in one. And that was kind of the case. Each filming location presented a different challenge. After a month, I said to Emma: ‘Luckily I’m not the producer!’
The actor also said he felt immense gratitude when Christopher Nolan offered him the role: “It’s at the top of my career, because the technical challenges of a film of this magnitude surpass anything I had seen before..”
