Ingmar Bergman, “A Nazi who cried Hitler’s death!” The scathing declaration of Stellan Skarsgård
In Masterclass during a Festival in the Czech Republic, the 74 -year -old Swedish actor did not mince his words with regard to his compatriot who died in 2007.
Ingmar Bergman Died almost 20 years ago, and its troubled past and steeped in Nazi ideology, is no longer a secret.
But Stellan Skarsgård Go further today.
Present at the Karlovy Vary festival to receive a crystal globe and present the film Sentimental value (hailed on the Croisette last May), Stellan Skarsgård did not chew her words (reported by Variety) when evoking Ingmar Bergmanwith whom he worked at the theater in the 80s.
“My complicated relationship with Bergman is due to the fact that he was not a very nice guy. A good director, yes, but we can still say of a guy that he is an asshole! Caravaggio was probably an asshole too, but he painted masterpieces.”

What stings, for the 74 -year -old Swedish star, who passed by Marvel, is the report of his compatriot to Adolf Hitler:
“Bergman was manipulative. He was Nazi during the war and he is the only person I know who cried Hitler’s death! He was always found, but I have the feeling that he had a very twisted vision of others. He thought that some people were worth nothing. We felt him, in the way he manipulated people. He was not nice.”
Righting words therefore, against the one who remains one of the greatest filmmakers in the history of the 7th art. Rewarded several times, Ingmar Bergman won the gold bear at Berlina golden lion for his entire career to Venicethe price of staging and the price of the jury to Canesas well as three Oscars for the best film in a foreign language. He is also the only one to have received a Palm palmdiscount during 1997 Cannes Film Festival.
In contrast to the spectrum, Skarsgård praised Norwegian’s work Joachim Trier (director of Sentimental value):
“I really saw him watching the actors with whom he worked. He becomes thinner with each film, and there is a form of lightness, a game, very generous.”
