As the trailer reveals, The Last Breath will see Denis Podalydès be interested in the different ways of saying goodbye to your time on Earth.
“Death doesn’t “work” on me but it remains an inexplicable scandal for me” tell Costa-Gavraswho explains that he wanted, with this film, “to look at the horizon of the end of life, which is starting to get closer and closer to me”. Necessarily, The Last Breath refers to the latest socio-political debates on the right to die. And the director concedes that he has delivered a work with obvious resonance: “When there is debate there is politics. When there is human and end of life there is even more politics…”
The synopsis of Last breath details: “In a friendly and passionate dialogue, Doctor Augustin Masset and the writer Fabrice Toussaint confront the end of life of his patients and the other his own fate. Carried away by a whirlwind of visits and meetings, both begin a sensitive journey between laughter and tears: a human adventure at the heart of all of our lives“.
Released February 12 in cinemas.
