Lucius Malfoy is “a racist”: the uncompromising analysis of Jason Isaacs

The actor currently playing season 3 of The White Lotus returns to his role in the Harry Potter saga.

Jason Isaacs is notably known for its roles of super-guys in the cinema: the fabulous Captain Crochet in the film Peter PanL‘Intransigent Colonel Tavington In The Patriot But above all, that of the terrible Lucius Malfoy in the saga Harry Potter. During an interview for the Podcast Awards Chatter of the Hollywood Reporter, the actor returned to this character, a fervent defender of the forces of Evil and Lord Voldemort. According to him, the wickedness of Lucius Malfoy serves above all as justification for the facts and gestures of his son Draco Malfoyinterpreted by Tom Felton:

“My role was not to participate in a franchise. My role was to explain to the public why Draco was such a little idiot at school. He came from a homeless home, and I of a long and uninterrupted parental education without love”.

“Playing this vain racist is perhaps magical, but the parallels are quite obvious: someone who does not think that the muggles should mix their blood with that of the wizards and who tries to return his greatness of yesteryear to Hogwarts.”
