Netflix documentary will tell the truth about the Knysna bus: trailer
Patrice Evra, the captain of the team at the time, wants Raymond Domenech to “take responsibility”, more than 15 years after the fiasco of the 2010 World Cup.
One month before the Football World Cup in America, Netflix is rekindling old wounds.
The platform will broadcast a documentary which will look back in detail at the fiasco of the 2010 World Cup, when the French football team went on strike in the middle of the tournament in South Africa, refusing to get off the bus to go to training.
“On June 20, 2010, the French football team imploded before the eyes of the world during the infamous strike in Knysna, South Africa. A stationary bus became the symbol of the most resounding fiasco in French sport. For the first time, the actors at the heart of this crisis reveal what really happened behind the scenes” details the synopsis.
The trailer promises revelations and already teases a clash between Patrice Evra, the Captain of the team at the time, and coach Raymond Domenech. “I took my responsibilities. And I would like Raymond Domenech to take his“, says the former Manchester United full-back facing the camera, suggesting that the Blues coach also has his share of fault in this sporting tragedy which humiliated the whole of France.
The Bus: The Blues on Strike will be released on May 13, 2026 on Netflix.
