Here is the editorial of this issue 551:
The monkey saints
Proximus César sits on the cover of this issue while in American theaters, King Kong destroys everything in its path. Hollywood seems to be fascinated by primates again. For a simple reason: monkeys are like us, but they are not us. A brilliant starting point for all kinds of stories, whether pure entertainment, docus or philosophical dystopias. But what the public loves these days are the stories of chaos, when our furry cousins become agents of destruction and spectacular sales arguments.
Last year, IMAX theaters brought in more than a billion dollars around the world, boosted mainly by Oppenheimer, Nolan's film which retraced the creation of the atomic bomb, the same A-bomb which gave birth… to Godzilla. And it is precisely this nuclear metaphor-creature that is fighting today with the giant ape in Godzilla x Kong: The New Kingdom. The triumph of the film therefore has a little ironic taste. When we know that the director of this new Godzilla promised a buddy movie influenced by The lethal Weaponwe find ourselves very far from the mental biopic of Nolan or the fable of The Planet of the Apes. And since a good editorial would be nothing without a quote from Eastwood, we suddenly think back to what Clint said about It's going to hitin which he responded to an orangutan: “For this project, I just wanted to have fun and act like a monkey. »
