6) The studio – On Apple TV+
But where is Hollywood going? Seth Rogen becomes the boss of Major in this scathing and hilarious satire of the American industry, which supports where it hurts. Both fascinated and paid by the drifts and the agony of a system, its series is a radiography as dizzying as it is depressing. Behind the comedy varnish, the observation is relentless: Hollywood capitulated, swallowed by the logic of “content” which acts the end of cinema as an important cultural object. Enough to cry Martin Scorsese in guest star!
5) Asterix and Obelix: the fight of the chiefs – On Netflix
Alain Chabat Coming back to the world of little Gauls mustachioed and once again, it’s fantastix! Over 20 years later Mission: Cleopatrathe director manages to infuse his humor nullian to the world of Goscinny and Uderzo. This time, he does it in a lively version, in a small series (5 episodes) steeped in joyful finds, great winks, hilarious valves, stars to make the voices and in a communicative good humor. 3) The Pitt – on max
There is an urgent need to watch the new medical series of Noah Wyle ! More than 15 years after the emergency room of Cook County, we immerse ourselves in those of Pittsburgh during this new medical series which shares the same DNA: that of the hyperrealist chronicle of a profession by the implosion. Doctors and nurses are meticulously written, human and fallible, overwhelmed by the great circus of chain care of a service in lack of means. All filmed (almost) in real time, hour by hour. Breathtaking.
2) short.2 – On Disney +
Kyan Khojandi resuscitates the pastille from Big newspaper In a brand new series that shines to marry old recipe and new formula. In this hybrid format, just as sparkling as at the time, he chained the sequences that slam, generational references and scathing reflections on quarantine. There are even more fantastic guest stars (Alexandre AstierJean-Paul Rouve, Doria Tillier … and above all Laura Felpin). But this time, Khojandi and Navo go basically. Plus masting, this suite changes the tone and accepts introspection as a dramatic engine. In short, it’s strong!
1) Adolescence – On Netflix
The big slap of the year, without a doubt. Between heartbreaking family drama and chilling thriller, the mini-series of and with Stephen Graham will haunt you for a long time. The story of little Jamie, 13, accused of murder, is edifying. Overwhelming. The realization in sequence of the four episodes prevents us from catching our breath. We are in total apnea during these 4 hours that will mark the history of television.
