The director of Flow announces his next film: Limbo

On the networks, Gints Zilbalodis revealed that he had completed the scenario. Genius is underway.

One year after the epic Flow, the cat who was no longer afraid of waterthe Franco-Latvian animated film crowned at the Oscars and Césars, Latvian director Gints Zilbalodis is already preparing his next feature film.

It will be called Limbo. The filmmaker announced this weekend that he had completed the script for the film, currently in pre-production, as confirmed a few weeks ago by its producer Matīss Kaža during the Locarno Film Festival, explaining the director’s particularly intense creative process: “While Gints is working on the animatic, he is also writing the script and composing hours of music to test it on the animatic. Everything is moving forward at the same time….”

Limbo will mark an unprecedented stage in the director’s career. “This will be the first time that Gints will work with dialogue, therefore with real (dubbing) actors. He always sets himself new challenges,” Kaza explains. For now, no further details on the story. And no release date yet. A priori, we will have to wait a few years.
