The Three Musketeers are women in the All for One trailer
The director of Divines is changing the genre of The Three Musketeers.
After the success of Three musketeers by Martin Bourboulon and Count of Monte Cristo with Pierre Niney (nearly 16 million admissions in three films), room for women. All for one is the second feature film ofHouda Benyaminawhich will be released on January 22, almost nine years later DivineCaméra d’or at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival. Since then, she had filmed two episodes of the Netflix series The Eddy with Tahar Rahim and co-directed the documentary Salam on Diam’s. There, change of times: the director revisits The Three Musketeersassuming that the trio is in fact a trio of women disguised as men: Daphné Latakia, Sabrina Ouazani and Déborah Lukumuena. They are joined by a young woman, played by Oulaya Amamra, who will become a musketeer like them. On the program, everything that makes up the life of musketeers: fights, rides, Richelieu’s plot and the Queen of France in danger. And, of course, a discourse on gender categories and injunctions provoked by the gender-swap heroes of Dumas.
