The top 20 best original Amazon Prime Video series

10) KNUCKLES (2024)

For the whole family! This live series was designed as a perfect little appetizer before the release of Sonic 3 in the cinema (in December 2024). The SEGA saga comes to the small screen in this story centered on the powerful red hedgehog, voiced by Idris Elba. A fun comedy, in the spirit of the first two films.
Current status: no season 2 ordered at the moment.

9) THE WALKING DEAD: DARYL DIXON (2023)

The rest of the franchise TWD. Zombie fans will be delighted to find the biker who ventures into Europe. The first part takes place in France and takes us in the footsteps of Daryl Dixon, who seeks to return home and discovers that the pandemic of the living dead has also ravaged France. Along the way, he discovers love and reunites with his dear Carol, in spectacular settings, like Mont-Saint-Michel in the background! A smart and well-produced variant.
Current status: season 2 ended in 2024. Season 3 is scheduled for 2025.

8) ZORRO (2024)

The masked rider reinvents himself in the guise of Jean Dujardin, in a comic and epic version modeled on the spirit of OSS 117 by Michel Hazanavicius with the same Jean Dujardin back in great form on the small screen. The authors Benjamin Charbit (Gagarin) and Noé Debré (Parliament) have chosen to remove all the pulp paraphernalia of the masked vigilante, at the risk of making the purists scream. Their Zorro seems to be an epigone of Hubert Bonisseur de la Bath, but in a cordobés hat, helped by the personality and ironic acting of his headliner.
Current status : season 1 was broadcast in 2024. No season 2 at the moment.

7) INTERVIEW WITH A VAMPIRE (2022)

The literary saga of Anne Rice comes back to life on the small screen. After the cult film, Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt give way to this adaptation which brings new blood. We find Lestat, the irresistible vampire and Louis, his new prey from New Orleans, but in a modern and revisited version, which will surprise you.
Current status : season 2 was broadcast in 2024. Season 3 has been ordered.

6) THE OFFER (2022)

Miles Teller plays Albert S. Ruddy behind the scenes at Godfather. The true story of the genesis of Francis Ford Coppola’s masterpiece, told from the producer’s point of view. Or how the Mafia tried to derail the film… A true story almost as crazy as the thriller itself.
Current status : a mini-series without sequel.

5) STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS (2022)

Paramount is the studio of Star Trek. And as such, Paramount + offers ALL Federation series in its catalog. From the original from the 60’s to Discovery (seen for a while on Netflix in France) via The New Generationthere is plenty to explore the stars on board the ships Starfleet. But we recommend the youngest, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Centered on the years when Captain Pike was in command of the Enterprise, with a young Spock at his side, it joins the original series in spirit, bringing a welcome touch of modernity.
Current status : season 3 is expected in 2025.

4) TULSA KING (2022)

Sylvester Stallone doesn’t look 70! He carries this jubilant thriller at arm’s length in which he plays a disillusioned New York mafia “capo”, expatriated to Oklahoma, where he will slowly rebuild an empire. A cool and old school thriller, which rekindles the flame of old Sly, still impressive.
Current status: season 2 aired in 2024. Season 3 has been ordered.

3) YELLOWSTONE (2018)

This is the phenomenon that has conquered America in recent years. A western in the form of a soap in Montana, imagined by the brilliant Taylor Sheridan (director of Take Shelter notably). A family saga around an all-powerful ranch and the rivalries with its neighbors. Kevin Costner is at the center of this exploration of today’s Wild West, but the supporting roles are not left out.
Current status: the end of season 5 will begin in November 2024. And a season 6 is no longer ruled out.

2) THE CURSE (2023)

Before his Oscar for Poor CreaturesEmma Stone was already in full swing in this series which redefined the very concept of “cringe”. Absolutely embarrassing and admirably assumed, this creation by Nathan Fielder & Benny Safdie makes fun of gentrification, reality TV, micropenis and human relationships in every sense. A dizzying and perfectly indefinable social comedy.
Current status: a season 2 was quickly mentioned. But for now, it’s still a mini-series.

1) EVIL (2019)

A brilliant anxiety series imagined by Robert and Michelle King. The creators of The Good Fight have fun with religion and beliefs in this drama which walks a fine line between supernatural and psychological thriller. A trio of experts hired by the Church are to determine cases of demonic possession and recommend exorcisms if necessary. But is there really the Devil on Earth? Or wouldn’t all this terror ultimately be very human? You can follow the formidable trio of Katja Herbers, Mike Colter and Aasif Mandvi with your eyes closed.
Current status: season 4, broadcast in 2024, is the last of the series.
