We know when the sequel to The Office will return
Peacock reveals the first images and the release date of season 2 of The Paper, the spin-off of The Office which follows the editorial staff of a small local American newspaper.
Toledo Truth-Teller employees will return to work soon.
Peacock has just announced that season 2 of The Paper will go online on September 9 in the United States. The platform also revealed the first images of this new chapter, offering a new glimpse of Domhnall Gleeson in the role of Ned Sampson, editor-in-chief of the newspaper.
It should be remembered that the derivative series is still not available in France…
Created by Greg Daniels, already behind The Office, the series takes up the famous concept of the mockumentary. This time, the film crew that immortalized the employees of Dunder Mifflin in Scranton is interested in a new subject: a historic newspaper in the American Midwest whose owner is desperately trying to ensure its survival.
According to the official synopsis, after winning the prestigious Ohio Journalism Awards, Ned embarks on a new journalistic crusade targeting a local private club, at the risk of putting the newspaper in danger. At the same time, his relationship with Mare continues to evolve, while Esmeralda still finds her place within the editorial team and the entire team gradually matures as journalists.
In addition to Domhnall Gleeson, the series stars Sabrina Impacciatore, Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Tim Key, Ramona Young, Eric Rahill, Duane Shepard Sr. and Alex Edelman.
Fans of The Office will also have the pleasure of meeting Oscar Nuñez, who reprises his role as Oscar Martinez, one of the most popular accountants in the cult series worn by Steve Carell.
After a first season which appealed to those nostalgic for The Office while gradually finding its own identity, The Paper hopes to confirm the attempt with this second burst of episodes.
