The indoor film: The cache Lionel Baier
This is the last film shot by Michel Blanc. If it was only used to greet the comedian who disappeared last October, The cache would already be precious, but the film appeals beyond this posthumous tribute. Adapted from a book by Christophe Boltanski, it is the portrait of a Bohemian and whimsical family, entrenched in their large Parisian apartment, while May 68 agitates the street below – and the ghosts of the occupation are still prowling. Serious and wacky at the same time, served by excellent actors (white, therefore, but also Dominique Reymond or William Lebghil), The cache is a moving reflection on history and memories, served in a neo-pop style evoking in turn Gaston LagaffeWes Anderson or the Sixties Godard – but which manages to avoid the traps of Gaga fetishism of the Thirty Glorious Years.

The film on TV: Rosetta of Luc and Jean-Pierre Dardenne
The death of Emile Dequenne reminds us of the good memory of his hatching in the cinema. Rosetta It was her entirely. Omnipresent on the screen, the then 18 -year -old Belgian actress embodied a young woman who banned society, forced to a wild life from which she was trying to get out of. Dequenne worked here in the footsteps of the Sandrine Bonnaire du Without roof or law d’Agnès Varda (1985). To evoke the cinema of the Dardenne brothers, we evoke out of laziness, “Documentary force“,”triumphant ultra-realism“Forgetting that it is the transcendence that filmmakers aim. In this quest for the absolute is the body therefore the incarnation which sublimates everything. Result, a palm of gold coupled with a prize for female interpretation. RosettaEternal Emilie Dequenne.

The classic: Les Dames du Bois de Boulogne by Robert Bresson (1945)
Film partly denied by his filmmaker, these Ladies encourage Robert Bresson to operate an intellectual and aesthetic break. The cantilemnial filmmaker of a purity by the staging that he will theorize in his essay Cinematographer noteswill now work by subtraction, starting with the representation of feelings. A follower of a neutral and distant game, he will refuse professional actors. On this film shot under the free occupation adaptation of Jacques the Fatalist From Diderot, he would have brought hell to life to his actress Maria Casarès. Les Dames du Bois de Boulognestory of a loving revenge, there is nonetheless of an insane power. The freshly restored copy is sublime. By its radicality, Bresson will be one of the models of future filmmakers of the New Wave.
