Zack Snyder celebrates 5 years of his Justice League with an epic new trailer
A video to the sound of Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah, which will make your hair stand on end…
He likes to rekindle the flame of the SnyderVerse.
On the occasion of the fifth anniversary of his remounted Justice League, Zack Snyder shared an epic trailer on his networks (see below).
A gesture far from trivial, almost militant, for a project which has long been considered impossible. In this trailer, we notably find the epic confrontation with Darkseid, absent from the 2017 cinema version, as well as a reinforced focus on the central team: Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Flash and Cyborg. Each hero gains in presence, in weight, in breath. All carried by Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen, a musical choice already used by Snyder on Watchmen, and which gives the whole thing an almost sacred dimension. But more than nostalgia, it is a tribute that the filmmaker delivers.
In the caption, he directly thanks the fans, who are “almost producers associated in every sense of the word, with those who refused that it did not exist, this film exists thanks to you!”
Because Zack Snyder’s Justice League is not just a director’s cut. It is the culmination of a massive mobilization, the famous Release the Snyder Cut movement, which transformed a fan request into a multi-million dollar studio decision. In 2021, the Snyder Cut finally saw the light of day. Five years later, the impact is still there. On the networks, reactions oscillate between admiration and nostalgia. Some speak of a film “engraved in the history of cinema”, others salute the tenacity of the director. And in all this, it’s difficult for James Gunn to impose his vision of the DC Universe…
