The star who has appeared in the Marvel saga regrets that Hugh Jackman has chosen “the box office path.”
William Stryker is still as bad as ever! The former villain of X-Men made a remarkable exit during his speech at the Edinburgh International Film Festival this weekend. Brian Coxsince become a superstar of Succession on HBO, expressed his concern about the evolution of American cinema, now entirely focused on the blockbuster giants Marvel and DC.
“What’s happening is that television is doing what cinema used to do. It’s innovating when cinema is in a very bad state, in my opinion… It’s losing its place, partly because of the huge Marvels, DCs and all that. It’s all starting to implode, really. And we don’t know where they’re going with this anymore.”
Brian Cox then mentioned Deadpool & Wolverineas an example of these superhero movies”which bring in a lot of money but where the actor’s work is diluted“, tackling his ex-partner on screen in passing, Hugh Jackman :
“It’s a bit of a celebration for some actors to do these kinds of films. When you know that Hugh Jackman can do so much more… Or even Ryan Reynolds. They choose this path, this box office path. But they make a lot of money and you can’t fight against that…”
Especially since Brian Cox He also had his share of the cake at the time of the X-Men. It was even William Stryker who designed Wolverine and his adamantium skeleton! “It’s true that I created Wolverine… but I tend to forget that. In fact, when these movies come out, there’s always a little bit of me in them (as Stryker) but they never pay me a dollar…”
