One year ago, Philippe Lacheau teased his involvement in a new adaptation of the Marsupilamia decade later that of Alain Chabatwhich had brought together more than 5 million curious people at the cinema. His video was full of mysteries, but ten days ago, the project was finally confirmed, the director of Baby sitter announcing on Instagram that he was going soon to start filming.

Now that things are coming to fruition, it is via a video, still posted on social networks, that Pathé reveals the official casting of this new Marsuwith a surprise: Jamel Debbouze will be back in this family comedy. No trace of Chabat, however. For now?
André Franquin’s very popular beast steals a phone here, then films Philippe Lacheau, Elodie Fontan, Julien Arruti and Tarek Boudali on the set, before Jamel tries to catch him by asking him to give him back his smartphone. We then see the long tail of the Marsu, and the studio completes the information by also mentioning Alban Ivanov, Corentin Guillot, Jean Reno and Reem Kherici in the cast.
Scheduled for release on February 4, 2026 for this new adaptation simply titled The Marsupilami.
