Marvel unveils the casting XXL of Avengers: Doomsday, and there are big surprises

End of shooting for Avengers: Doomsday, Doctor Doom celebrates

The Marvel film now begins its long phase of post-production.

The site is on time.

Avengers: Doomsday finished filming on Friday, September 19, after 5 months of shots between the Pinewood studios in the United Kingdom and the Bahrain deserts. To mark the event, Marvel Studios organized a WRAP PARTY (a memorable end of filming party)… with an unexpected guest star.

A Doctor Doom hologram began to dance on electro before the amused eyes of the cast and the technical team. The scene, shared by the action designer Micah Karns on Instagram Stories, quickly ignited social networks. On X (ex-twitter), the @DRDOOMARCHIVATE account had fun: “They put a doom dancing hologram at the end of Avengers filming celebration: Doomsday, Hello, is that how he will distract the Avengers?”

The film is now entering its long phase of post-production, with even more than a year of work before its release set for December 16, 2026. Reshoots and additional scenes are already planned in the coming months.

This small appearance of Doom is not trivial: the super-vulneous was already teased in early September during the Walt Disney Marketing Expo, via a laser show and unpublished artworks revealing its design in the MCU. The Wrap Gifts distributed to the teams also resumed emblematic illustrations of Jack Kirby, confirming the importance of the character in this new Marvel era.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, on a scenario of Stephen McFeely and Michael Waldron, Avengers: Doomsday Align a monumental cast: Robert Downey Jr. in Doctor Doom, but also Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Anthony Mackie (Captain America), Florence Pugh (Yelena Belova), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Letitia Wright (Shuri / Black Panther) or Chris Hemsworth (Thor). The veterans of the X-Men McKellen, Patrick Stewart, Rebecca Romijn, James Marsden, Kelsey Grammer and Alan Cumming are also returning, while the new quartet of Fantastic Four Return Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bachrach.
