A deleted scene from the end of The Maid has been revealed

Sydney Sweeney reunited with Michele Morrone in a final sequence…

With its almost 5 million admissions in France and 350 million dollars in worldwide revenue, The Housekeeper attracted a lot of people to theaters at the start of 2026.

And the spectators did not see this scene, deleted at the last minute by the director. A sequence which takes place at the end of the film and which has just been revealed online.

Spoiler alert!

The scene in question takes place during Andrew Winchester’s funeral. After collecting her big check from Nina, Millie met Enzo again, the famous gardener who protects the shadows. The sequence delved deeper into the relationship between Sydney Sweeney and Michele Morrone, hinting at developments that should be at the heart of the upcoming film.

Why did you cut this scene? Director Paul Feig explained this to People. During test screenings, certain sequences diverted the audience’s attention to other characters at a key moment in the story. “When you put a film together and do test screenings, you discover that at certain times the audience wants to stay with one character over another.”he explains. “That was the only scene we had to sacrifice.”

But Feig never really drew a line under it. He even suggests that the scene could reappear later: “If there is another movie, she could come back in a sequel… if audiences go to the movies and make that possible.”

In fact, Lionsgate has officially confirmed that a second part will enter production in 2026. The Maid 2 will bring back Sydney Sweeney and certainly also Michele Morrone, since Enzo has a place in the book The Housemaid’s Secret by Freida McFadden (published in 2023). In other words: this deleted scene, maliciously revealed today, is perhaps only a taste…
