Ruined, James Van Der Beek’s family collects more than $1 million

The actor who died of cancer left behind huge medical bills. A participatory online fundraiser was launched to help his wife and children.

Less than 24 hours after the death of James Van Der Beek, the generosity of fans and the community is breathtaking.

The actor died on February 11 at the age of 48, after a long battle with colorectal cancer. A battle that is costly in the United States if you don’t have the right insurance.

Thus, numerous bills of large amounts remain to be paid for his widow. As soon as his death was announced, friends decided to create a participatory online fundraiser via GoFundMe to support the Van Der Beek family, his wife Kimberly and their six children, with these expenses.

And in a few hours, the prize pool in question has already exceeded the crazy sum of 1.2 million dollars!

An XXL amount collected thanks to donations from fans and organizations, while the initial goal was set at $250,000. It was increased to 1.3 million throughout the day.

The post on the page explains: “In this time of grief, Kimberly and the children face an uncertain future. The costs of medical care and the prolonged battle with cancer have stretched the family’s resources. They are struggling to stay in their home and provide schooling and some stability for the children during this incredibly difficult time. The support of friends, family and the community will make a huge difference on the road ahead of them.”

The money raised will therefore be used to cover essential expenses, pay bills and support the education of James Van der Beek’s children.

“Every donation, whatever the amount, will help Kimberly and her family find hope and security by rebuilding their lives. Please consider a gesture to support them” promises the creator of the prize pool, a certain Jason K.

James Van Der Beek leaves behind six children: Olivia, 15, Joshua, 13, Annabel, 12, Emilia, 9, Gwendolyn, 7, and Jeremiah, 4.
