Man on Fire: the trailer for the Netflix remake
Yahya Abdul-Mateen II succeeds Denzel Washington.
We knew the Man of Fire version of Denzel Washington under the leadership of Tony Scott. Twenty years later, here is the Yahya Abdul-Mateen II version of Man on Fire under the leadership of Netflix.
The platform has just revealed the first trailer for its remake which will take the form of an action series adapted from the novels by AJ Quinnell.
In this new version, the story follows John Creasy, a former special forces mercenary once renowned for surviving the most desperate situations. But the man is now haunted by violent post-traumatic stress. Determined to take control of his life, Creasy begins a path towards redemption. Except that the past never really lets go of him: even before having found balance, he finds himself plunged back into violence, forced to fight harder than ever.
In the cast, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II will be surrounded by Billie Boullet, Bobby Cannavale, Alice Braga, Scoot McNairy and Paul Ben-Victor.
The series is written and supervised by Kyle Killen, while Steven Caple Jr. (Creed II) directs the first two episodes.
