First hairy teaser for the return of Malcolm
Disney Plus also confirms the release for 2026.
Disney has unveiled the first images of Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair, the event mini-series which will mark the big return of Malcolm in 2026 on Disney+ in France.
First tease and cult wink: the video re-enacts this now memorable moment where Lois (Jane Kaczmarek) shaves Hal’s (Bryan Cranston) back in the middle of the kitchen… A sequence that we saw at the start of episode 1. Like a return to Malcolm’s roots. Enough to announce a revival perfectly aware of its heritage.
Scheduled in four episodes, the series does not yet have a precise date but will arrive during the year 2026.
On the casting side, almost the whole family is back: Jane Kaczmarek and Bryan Cranston will be there among the hairs, just like Frankie Muniz, Chris Kennedy Masterson, Justin Berfield and Emy Coligado are back. As already announced, Caleb Ellsworth-Clark reprises the role of Dewey. Newcomers include Keeley Karsten, Vaughan Murrae and Kiana Madeira.
The official pitch: “After keeping his distance from his family for over a decade to protect his daughter (Karsten), Malcolm is drawn back into family chaos when Hal and Lois demand his presence for their 40th wedding anniversary.”
Creator of the original series, Linwood Boomer returns to the helm as writer and executive producer.
