Spider-Man Returns in Exciting Brand New Day Trailer
Poor Peter Parker is going to have lots of problems. And most importantly: how to win back Zendaya’s heart?
Tom Holland once again dons the weaver’s costume.
Spider-Man: Brand New Daythe fourth solo film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Peter Parker, today revealed its first trailer (see below). Two minutes which show that the young hero is going to die…
At the end of No Way Home (in 2021), Peter had made a monumental sacrifice: to save New York and the multiverse from the consequences of the fate of Doctor Strange – who had caused the arrival of villains from other dimensions like the Green Goblin or Doctor Octopus – Peter accepts that everyone forgets that he is Spider-Man. Even MJ (Zendaya). Even Ned (Jacob Batalon). In short, all his loved ones erase him from their memories. And while Aunt May (Marisa Tomei) is dead, Peter finds himself alone…
The atmosphere will not be festive at the start of the film. A Spidey gloom awaits us and this big bout of blues is not going to get better, when the boy realizes that his powers are going haywire. As shown in the trailer, he is going to see an old acquaintance (who also forgot him): Mark Ruffalo reprises his role as Hulk. Good Bruce Banner will understand that Peter’s DNA is mutating. And no, that’s not a good thing…
But whatever. The young boy has only one thing in mind: winning back MJ! And the video largely teases the reunion of the two star-crossed lovers…
It also shows the first steps in the universe of Jon Bernthal’s Weaver returning as Punisher, and of Michael Mando who will return to play the evil Scorpion (after Spider-Man: Homecoming).
On the other hand, no trace yet of Sadie Sink. We still don’t know what role the star of Stranger Thingsand obviously, Marvel and Sony intend to create suspense.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be released in theaters on July 31, 2026 in France.
This new opus marks a turning point behind the scenes: for the first time, a Spider-Man film carried by Tom Holland is not directed by Jon Watts. It’s Destin Daniel Cretton, already behind Shang-Chiwho takes orders.
Let us remember that Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) had exceeded $1.9 billion at the worldwide box office. Watch the trailer below:
